London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
LAMDA is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected examination boards for Speech and Drama and have been offering examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years. The examinations help students to develop important life skills.
LAMDA exams are an excellent way to mark achievements and bench mark a student’s progress.
At Blag our students achieve excellent results with 85% achieving distinctions.
LAMDA ACTING Grades, entry level to grade 8 (Regulated)
Our LAMDA classes help students to develop a strong speaking voice and good memory skills by learning and performing monologues and duologues. Students will explore style, form, character, subtext and context.
Blag’s weekly LAMDA classes concentrate on developing further acting techniques. The students work either in twos or individually. Each class begins with a vocal warm up to encourage development of vocal skills essential for exam preparation.
LAMDA’s Level 3 recognised qualifications are included in the new UCAS Tariff. UCAS points are assigned by grade and attainment level (Pass, Merit or Distinction). For more information please visit LAMDA’s website.
LAMDA Communication exams are also available on a 1-2-1 basis in Verse and Prose, Public Speaking and Reading for Performance.
LAMDA Group Musical Theatre. (Non regulated)
Group Musical Theatre is an excellent examination for students who have an interest in musical theatre as entire scenes from their favorite shows can be reproduced for the exam.
These exams also encourage young people to develop practical performance skills. The ability to sing as a chorus and/or in harmony demands that everybody listen to every other person in the group and work with them to produce a performance that is in tune and in time.
This gives students valuable lessons in team work.
Blag’s musical theatre classes run every Saturday morning in Rickmansworth.
